My hexagon idea from the other day turned out just as I'd hoped :) Want to see pictures of what I am making (over the next 5 years - these babies take a while!)
It's going to be a hexipuff quilt! I am enthralled with all the knitted hexipuff quilts I have seen all over the internet but as a) I can't do anything with yarn and b) have no intention of trying, I decided to make one out of fabric!
These are small hence the 5 years I think it will take! It's also going to be a pick up/put down quilt which means I will only continue with it when I have bits of time. Maybe I should be aiming for 10 years :D Do let me know what you think!
Fab idea - I'm in the midst of knitting a hexipuff quilt - done about 150 so far and am making a handpieced traditional hexagon quilt so will watch your progress with interest. Good luck with it!
ReplyDeleteDoes it have to take 5 years? Can't you just get a wiggle on and get on with it? Cos I think its going to be fab and I can't wait that long to see how it turns out!
ReplyDeleteI will try Maryann!
ReplyDeleteIs it going to be big enough for you to roll around on? That would be so much fun. I had never heard of hexipuffs until I read this, but I am instantly excited by the idea. Get sewing and stuffing, woman! (ps Have you tried sewing any hexipuffs together yet?)
ReplyDeleteThat's going to be gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't sewn any together yet so I'm hoping it still works :)
ReplyDeleteAm liking the idea - somewhere between a patchwork throw and an eiderdown :) Here's hoping it doesn't take 10 years though.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I've been rather struck with all the knitted hexiepuffs, but it didn't even occur to me to attempt a sewn one. Can't wait to see how this one develops.
ReplyDeleteLooks interesting. I made a "puffy" pram quilt for my little ones 30 years ago but using 5 inch squares. So-every thing comes round again. It will look and feel lovely so get cracking!!!!
ReplyDeleteHehehehe!! 5 years!! If you need any sewing, you know where to find me!
ReplyDeleteExcellent plan! :)
