Thrifty goodies

So yesterday I single handedly stimulated the economy in the Burnley charity shops :) I went with specific things in mind (jumpers to felt) and the charity shop gods listened to me!

I managed to get 8 jumpers and then I found these beauties in the last shop I went in.

Two pure new wool blankets!! The colours haven't come out correctly in the photographs but the bottom one is a light green and the top is a pale yellow one.

And just look at the label!!!

I also got a bit of fabric!

And some books. All of the above will be used for 'Swirlyarts'. I did look hard but only found one thing for me - but they are fabulous!

Some gold shoes!!! I had a pair of gold ballet shoes that I got at a jumble sale a few years ago but they died recently so I was thrilled to find these beauties! I was going to cut the straps off but once I tied them on I was quite taken by them. What do you think? I must admit they will get me some stares but so do my pink sparkly shoes and bright tights so I'm not going to lose much sleep about it!

What a great haul. I just don't seem to be able to find the right sort of jumpers to felt - could be because it is warmer here on the coast and people don't have so many wool ones. I love those shoes. I think they even look quite "in". Cherrie

Top shopping missus. I love the snuggly blankets and fabric, the shoes are lush, keep the bows on them and wear them whilst watching Strictly Come Dancing!!! Could you do a tutorial on how to turn a jumper into lovely felty stuff please ?

that is really pretty looking fabric. Wish the shops around here had things like that in them. Haven't seen anything like that in the charity shops here, just lots of faded sheets :/

Great buys! I am always jealous of your charity shop finds. Are you going to felt those blankets too?
