Screaming

Image from We Heart It

I can't be the only one who is mightily annoyed at the new word verification on blogger. The number of times I have given up after trying to type out the two words multiple times! So I figured if I was struggling then others might be too. So I have switched the word verification off BUT your comments will now have to be moderated so it might take a while for them to show up on the site :) Also, did you know that there is a new spam filter on blogger? I didn't and found that two genuine comments had been put into my spam folder - so check your spam filter regularly. I found it by accident as I didn't realise it was there.

Right so who is going to be first and leave me a comment to see if I've set this up correctly?

Oh god! This is driving me bonkers! It really puts me off commenting now especially on my phone! I've installed disqus - a third party commenting tool. Fin it much easier to use and comment and I can still moderate comments if I want!

I have to refresh each time, about 5/6 times until I can get one that I can actually half-read! grr, annoying! I just don't have time (and don't want the extra admin) of having to moderate the comments though, boo to blogger!

Nice to know it's not just me! Often I'm sure I've got it right but I haven't and have to have another go. Grr. Need to sort out something for my blog.

Yep it's driving me nuts too.

I have given up trying to leave a comment on several blogs because I couldn't decipher the letters.

It's been driving me crazy! I might follow suit and turn it off on my blog too.

I have done the same as you, taken the capture thing off but left moderation on. I have been getting loads of spam that look like a normal comment but then included a link to their site. When google sees their link it assumes that they are more important than they are and ranks them higher, they all go in the spam bin.

Very happy to know that I'm not the only one going bonkers with word verification! I've recently changed my website and immediately turned word verification off... I rather have to moderate comments!

Here's a link for how to disable the new two-word verification (in my browser I can't even see the words!)in case it is different than what you've already done.

I've just stopped commenting when you have to copy the two words.
