New Years Resolutions

For the past 10 years or so I have always made New Years Resolutions and they have fallen by the wayside a couple of weeks into the New Year so I'm finally going to set some New Years Resolutions I can stick to (and not daft ones like lose 14 stone or run a Marathon!)

1. The first one is going to be very easy for me to stick too - do more shopping in the charity shops! Yep, less new stuff for me, and lots of second hand goodies. I really think this is something I can stick to!! Down with the new stuff and roll on second hand!

2. The second should be fairly easy to stick to as well. Spend more time on me! By this I mean things like painting my toenails and finding time to do my hair properly etc. I grew up when Grunge music was popular and I adopted that way of dressing (although mixed up with my own very individual style!) and I never learnt to apply make up properly (and still never wear it) or to do feminine things like that. I also have a dislike of going to the hairdressers - they make me feel very inadequate so this should be an interesting resolution to stick too!

3. Finally sort out my tip of a house! I'm saying this now and please do understand that I have a whole year to do this! We need to de-clutter A LOT and we have already started so hopefully by the end of the year (or maybe sooner) I will have a house I can show off :)

So there are my 3 fairly easy to stick to resolutions (especially the first 1!). I think I might go and shave my legs now and paint my toenails........

Know what you mean about the 'feminine' stuff. I'm getting better at it but I'm too lazy. Have noticed that my skin is getting really wrinkly as I approach the big 4-0, so I need to start a 'proper skincare routine'. How grown up?!

Good luck! I've never learned the make-up 'feminine stuff' either. Hate hairdressers 'cos they talk over your head to each other and I feel as if I'm from another planet. I'm not sure if daughters make this better or worse'cos now I get the 'tut' and the suggestions regarding what I should do with my hair. De-cluttering is a good idea - but once the children are back at school otherwise they'll just re-claim it all.

Great resolutions! I think the second one is particularly good - more 'me-time' is very important!! I'm working on the last one too :D

How spook is that Swirly? I am sporting red toenails for the first time in months and months and my legs are de-fuzzed! Shows how bored I got over the break! As for make-up, I wish I could put it on without it making me look like a clown!

Errrmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........ are you me??!!

I've already done the tidy the house bit (well downstairs - the boys bedrooms are tomorrow so if you don't 'see' me for a while, you know where I am!)

I think we should aim for a skirt and makeup day once a week (with shaved legs!)

All are very doable and focusing on more time you if it will make you feel better is always good. I have only worn makeup at my wedding and only because I looked dead but as soon as I could off it came :p
