Owl

Look at this gorgeous owl - he was perching on a roof near to the park this week and wasn't at all phased by lots of people standing looking at him!

There has been some debate whether he is an eagle owl or a long eared owl - I have no idea myself! Matt tried to take a photograph with his phone but it didn't come out - this photograph was taken by Steven who is dad to a little girl who goes to nursery with Tara. So big thanks to Steven and Margaret for the photo. If anyone who reads this blog has any idea which type of owl this is then do let me know :)

I'm gonna hazzard a guess at Eurasian Eagle Owl.
Hope you manage to solve the mystery as to which type of owl it actually is.

Ooooh, he's lovely! Wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of him though, hehe! :D

It could be a long eared owl. He's gorgeous - I love owls and always consider it a privilege to see one xx

hard to tell what it is. could be an eagle owl or a long eared owl. more then likely the latter, unless there have been sightings of breeding pairs of eagle owls in the area

Beautiful! I rarely get to see an owl, but love hearing them at night.

I think it might be a Copse owl. I need to go check my big bird book, and will come back to you.

Jennifer had it right, long eared owl.

Love owls but not too knowledgeable. Hubby thinks it is a long eared though & he's a real country boy, so he's probably right.

Awww, he's like the owl that sits on our toadstool at Brownies!
