My Sister's boyfriend was 30 a few weeks ago and when we went camping he finally got his present! I had an idea but as I worked on the item for him I added more and more things to it and it evolved from there. I'm really pleased with it as it sums him up perfectly - likes nature, camping, being outside etc etc.
The words in the background are all relevant to him and have been torn from a German English dictionary. There is no relevance to the German but I didn't have just an English dictionary that I was prepared to tear up!
The 30 is there for obvious reasons! The numbers are plastic and were bright blue which I didn't want. I went on the hunt for string but found elastic bands instead! It was slightly fiddly to do though :)
The little houses have been punched out of a map and are actually the remains of my
sticker making! I decided that they look quite good and layered them up on the blue card.
And the G is obvious too! I really enjoyed making this and all of the pieces in it are either recycled, thrifted or re-used from something else!
