Finally a blog post about Saltaire

We had Saltaire last weekend (which was fabulous!) and then we went away to Scotland (more on that in another post!) so I have been a bit busy and not able to blog. However here is a quick post about Salatire.

Here is my stall! I tweak the stall each time I do it and this is one of the layouts that worked best for me. However I need to have a think about something to go behind the stall that says something about me and the products. I did have the option of having a back board but had nothing to put on it so I declined. I'm thinking something recycled that will fit in with the whole Swirlyarts brand but I have no idea what! Any ideas?

The bargain box was only there for the third day but worked a treat - I sold off lots of stock :)

And I* unveiled a new product on the third day too - map fronted bottle openers on a keyring. Perfect for Fathers day or the walker in your life! They will be in the shops soon and are completely customisable with any map :)

*I mean Matt of course as he is in charge of the badge machine now :)

Glad you had a great weekend! Why dont you make a pin board covered with recycled scrap fabric or similar, and then you could pin some photos of your products (for example, if you have something new to promote), and a bio about you & your products on it as well. That way you can change it as and when it needs an update. You can prop it up on your stall, or hang it up behind you! :)

Looks lovely - wish I'd been able to get down to see it.

I second Dolly Cool Clare's suggestion about a reclaimed fabric pinboard. Also, possibly a little harder to source but you could use some old wooden stepladders to provide some height - you could hang peg bags from the rungs and maybe attach some display chickens with velcro. (You could add little kickstands to the bottom in case you don't always have a wall to lean them against.) When they're not in use, they could store/display fabric in your craft room too :)

my suggestion is two of your chickens, 2D holding bunting with swirlyarts printed/sewn on it. Like the step ladders idea, even better, two sets and a couple of planks of wood to make shelves for showing off more of your goodies.

Lovely stall Lynsey! Like that you have different levels - I keep meaning to think about that one :D

Will have to think about the backdrop idea - maybe one of these pinboards with diagonals (like trellis) or even garden trellis itself, so you can slot stuff in. I'm sure I have some somewhere . . . :D

Hope you enjoyed Scotland!

Two children who are growing like mad and have nothing better to do - they could hold a pole for you all day and would just want cake as payment. Happy to negotiate terms with you!!

Looks good and very buyable!!

The stall looks really good & definitely helps focus using different levels. Love the pinboard idea. As you have a badge machine maybe you could make some of the large ones for individual letters to spell out your name and also display some of your 'makes'- then mount them into a frame that can either be displayed behind or on your table. :)

Wow, just look at all that stuff! I'm currently getting ready for my fair in a week and a half and I'm working my fingers to the bone to get enough stock made up!

Your banner looks lovely, that's something I need to think about too. Argh, so much to do!

Glad it was successful! My creativity is not flowing at the moment, so I don't have backdrop ideas, but I'm pretty sure you'll come up with something fantastic!
