I'm still here.......

.....busy sorting and tidying the craft room. So far 5 black bins bags full of fabric have gone to the charity shops/fabric bins for charity shops* and the equivalent of 3 big blue Ikea bags have gone to a friend. Another friend has got 2 big boxes of stuff to play with (with the possibility of more) and so far only one black bin bag has been filled with rubbish.

The stock that is normally in the dining room (where else!) now has a new home in the craft room and Anya has a new desk in her bedroom that she is very pleased with. I have spent far too much money on new shelving but it will look fabulous when it is all up. There are no pictures to this post as the camera is upstairs and I am down and am very tired after lugging box after box after bag of stuff down 2 flights of stairs :) There will be some more at the weekend (hopefully!)

*with the addition of 3 more black bins bags of stuff from us :)

A change around!

I am in the process of moving all my mixed media artwork and Aceo's out of my Swirlyarts shop and into my Anya's Attic shop. When I asked for comments about my Swirlyarts shop most people said that the artwork didn't really fit in with the recycled/repurposed nature of the main shop and that I should open up another shop just for them. Instead of that I decided to move them to Anya's Attic where they fit in much better! And just as a reminder, here are some of the pieces that will move or have been moved so far.

I will be discontinuing my 'normal' drawn Aceo's and have reduced them to $1 each and you can find them here in my clearance section. There aren't many left now so hurry if you want one. Some I have already taken out of my shop and they may form part of a giveaway soon :)

I am having a big clear out in terms of stash and of made things so keep an eye out - I will let you know here of course first!

Vintage buttons

So I have been busy for the past few days getting some of my vintage buttons sorted and sewn onto cards in colour themed sets - my extensive research on Twitter showed that colour sets were preferable to mixed! Here are the sets I have listed so far over in my Anya's Attic Etsy shop.

The pink set - I love those flower ones!

The purple set - it's a pity that I didn't have more of those big ones as they would have been perfect on a coat I have!

And the white set. These are beautifully patterned.

So I would be grateful for any feedback you have on these sets - thanks. Oh and you wouldn't believe the state of my thumbs after sewing this lot onto cards - holes galore!!

The craft room so far...

It's looking good and the old sofa bed is out, as is the storage chest and they will be winging their way to my sister in law today!

Whoooooo hoooooo - the sewing desk is in as are the bookcases. It's slowly all coming together although there is still A LOT to do.

All this stuff isn't staying on the desk although I'm tempted to keep the shelf unit at the back there that has all the art work on it. I'll post more about the artwork from fabulous people later.

And look there is carpet!!!!!!

And my buttons have new homes in these fabulous jars. And it's nice to see them out and not in tubes where I can't see them!

De-stash

Well, before Christmas Matt and I had a huge tidy up of bits of the house and took about 6 black bin bags of stuff to the charity shop! We've started again today after sorting out loads of stuff to go to the tip and we already have another box of stuff to go to the charity shop! I also know that I have 3 huge boxes of stuff in the loft from when I used to be a teacher that I won't need ever again as I am never going back to that job :) I might give it to Anya's school if any of it will be of use to them - some of the games will be I'm sure. It will also give us enough room in the loft to put some of the stuff that is cluttering up the study at the moment!!
As my craft room is next to the study I have been popping in there to sort stuff out too and I have some things to put into the swap group on Flickr. There will be more coming soon I can assure you! Here's a couple of pictures.

Bag of leather scraps

Bag of bits of broken and tangled jewellery. Oh and the picture at the top is the view out of our study window over the park - we've been in the study tidying for most of today!
